Squish Area Programme
This programmme calculates the squish area as a percentage of the bore area for an engine.
Example - Central
Suppose you have an engine with a bore of 54.00 mm. First we measure the inner diameter of the squish land area as shown below. In this particular example the diameter is 40.00 mm. Enter this diameter plus the bore diameter into the squish area programme as shown. The resultant squish area is calculated as 45.13%.
Example - Bathtub
Suppose you have an engine with a bore of 54.00 mm. First we measure the inner diameter/width of the combustion chamber. In this particular example the diameter/width is 30.00 mm. Next we measure the total length of the combustion chamber which in this example is 54.0 mm. Enter these parameters into the torqsoft squish area programme and hit the calculate button. The answer is calculated as 37.7 %, as shown below.
Example - Offset
Suppose you have an engine with a bore of 54.00 mm and a squish diameter of 36.00 mm. Select Offset from the combustion chamber options and hit the calculate button. The resultant squish area is calculated as 55.56 %.
